About This Work

At first glance the painting reads as a single, energetic field, but its structure becomes more apparent with time. Broad arcs and looping lines move across the surface, connecting dense passages of color with quieter areas where the layers seem to open. There is no fixed point of focus. The eye continues to travel, discovering new relationships with each return.

The surface is built from countless marks that range from fine speckled pigment to sweeping gestures and heavier textured passages. Bright yellow accents appear throughout the composition, catching the light and creating moments of contrast against softer violets, deep greens, earth tones, and dark linear forms. These brighter passages shift in prominence as the light changes, giving different areas of the painting greater presence throughout the day.

Viewed from a distance, the painting feels expansive and atmospheric. Closer inspection reveals an intricate network of overlapping layers, transparent veils, and small details that are easily missed on first viewing. The richness of the surface rewards slow observation, with subtle variations in color, texture, and rhythm continuing to emerge over time.
